Leipzig, *22. Mai 1813 – 13. Februar 1883°, Venedig. Komponist, Dramatiker, Philosoph, Dichter, Schriftsteller, Theaterregisseur, Dirigent.

Residiert von 1866 – 1872 in einem Landhaus in Tribschen, am Rand der Stadt Luzern am Vierwaldstättersee.

Am 4. Dezember 1870 beendet er hier die Partitur des “Siegfried-Idyll“. Bereits am 25. Dezember wird das Stück im Treppenhaus des Wohnsitzes für seine Frau Cosima zu ihrem Geburtstag und zur Erinnerung an die Geburt ihres Sohnes Siegfried uraufgeführt.

Takes a villa in Tribschen just outside Lucerne, on Lake Lucerne, from 1866-1872.

On 4th December 1870, he finishes the score for the “Siegfried Idyll”. The piece is first performed on 25th December on the stairs of the villa, as a birthday present to his wife Cosima after the birth of their son Siegfried.
